This week our members enjoyed an evening presented by Ipswich's John Cook, who talked to us about his experiences of observing the Obama campaign ran by the Democrats in America last year. He gave a brilliant insight on how the voting system works in the USA and told us about how areas the size of Scotland voted on many different things on one day - and how it can take 15 minutes or more.
He also talked about comparisons between the UK and the USA in terms of how campaigning is carried out... it was an enlighting and interesting evening for all who attended. |
